Who are the Crooks and Castles? Born in 2002 Crooks & Castles Clothing was founded to bring a different element to the graphic t-shirt and streetwear realm. The founders Dennis Calvero and Robert Panlilio have always rooted for the villain and growing up in Los Angeles during the 80's and the 90's they had little choice. Gangs were everywhere- in the hood, the city and even the middle suburbia. It was a case of either adapt of decay. The Crooks and Castles concept was easy- "crooks" were the criminals, pimps, hustlers and thieves and "castles" were those who got rich from being a crook. From robber barons like the Rockefellers to modern day billionaires like Bill Gates, there are always those who stop at nothing to get what they want and Crooks & Castles have taken this attitude into the t-shirt, street wear and urban wear field. Crooks and Castles Clothing got their original boost from a variety of entertaiers, rappers and atheletes who embraced the vision of their brand. Jay Z, Kanye West, Ludacris, The Game and Nas have all been spotted wearing Crooks and Castles and their tees, New Eras, snapback caps, crew necks, hoodies and iconic Medusa design are a typical site in music videos from the likes of Kid Cudi to Big Sean. Beware or take sides. Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean Crooks and Castles are not always out to get you.
